Caddo member Chase Kahwinhut Earles demonstrates how he makes his traditional Caddo pottery and discusses the different aspects of finding and processing clay, hand coiling pottery, and how he does his ancestral style pitfiring. Within this demonstration, Chase will also go over how he engraves his designs and some of the meanings behind them. Experience history firsthand at the Historic Skills Fair at the Durst-Taylor Historic House and Gardens. When: Saturday, November 4th, 10am-12pm Where: Durst-Taylor House 304 North St. Nacogdoches Historic Sites invites you to observe demonstrations of historic skills you might see on an 1800s farmstead. We will have demonstrations of the blacksmith shop, the sugar cane mill, 1800s music, and historic crafts for children to make.
