[ARCHIVED] Children's Cooking Contest

(Nacogdoches) For the past seven years, the public library in Nacogdoches has hosted a cooking contest for children and teens featuring lots of great dishes and local “celebrity judges.” This year’s event will take place on November 16th.

“The contest is a fun event for the library staff and the families that participate. It’s a fun way to help kids with their reading and measuring skills. Kids seem to enjoy seeing the finished product they created,” said Mercedes Franks, Library Director.

The deadline to enter the contest is Wednesday, November 13th. Rules and entry forms are available at the public library or online at Items are to be prepared at home and brought to the library at 11:00 a.m. on November 16th. Children will compete in three age categories: young, middle and older children. Children can compete in up to two food categories: salad/appetizer, entrée or dessert.
