The Nacogdoches Police Department launches Operation SPIF. Annually NPD investigates many reports of theft where citizens and visitors to the city have had their property stolen from them. Often these victims have little information and descriptions of their property. This greatly hinders such investigations in developing suspects and the ultimate recovery of the stolen property. Several officers decided to help people record the needed information in the chance one day they fall victim to a theft or burglary. The program itself is called Operation SPIF which stands for Stolen Property Information Form. The form is available for all to download free of charge on the City of Nacogdoches website by following the links through to the Police Department page. The officers hope citizens will take a few minutes to both download the form(s) and record their property information. No one expects to be a victim of theft or burglaries, yet it does occur, and having the data needed on one’s stolen property available to the investigating officers and detectives is vital. If you have any questions, please contact an officer or call the police department at 936-559-2607 to be directed to an officer.
