Oak Grove Cemetery

Cemeteries are operating as normal. If you need to purchase grave spaces or have any questions regarding the City’s cemeteries, you may contact staff at Sunset Memorial Office - 936-560-5314. Staff are working normal hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 pm, but it is always best to call first to ensure someone is available.

City cemeteries are open to people visiting graves or exercising, as outdoor activity with social distancing is allowed per the Stay Home, Work Safe Order.

Oak Grove Cemetery

The first marked grave is dated 1837. 12.7 acres. HistoricOak Grove Cemetery is one of the most famous cemeteries in Texas. It is marked as the final resting place of many legendary Texans as well as four signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence.
