Pre-Development Meetings

Our goal in the Planning Department is to make your development process go as quickly and smoothly as possible. We strive to provide you with the best information possible early on in your process so you can make the best business decision for you and your project. We offer individuals interested in developing in the City of Nacogdoches the opportunity to attend pre-development meetings. While pre-development meetings are not required, they are highly encouraged.

The purpose of a pre-development meeting is to meet the City Staff who will be involved with you throughout your development project, address any development-related questions, and provide an overview of the developmental process. Pre-development meetings can also be a good way to receive feedback from staff on preliminary site plans. We have the goal of addressing any development-related questions. Pre-development meetings typically have representatives from several City departments in attendance. 

Prior to filling out the application for a pre-development meeting, please call the Planning Department at (936)559-2574 or email pz@nactx.us as staff may be able to answer your development questions without the need for a pre-development meeting.

Pre-development meetings are typically scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Each meeting typically lasts 30 minutes to one (1) hour long.
